SummerSlam (Cherry-Picked)

WWE SummerSlam 2015
 (2015/08/23)

WWE US & World Heavyweight Championship: John Cena (US)© vs. Seth Rollins (HW)©

Wow, Rollins’ white version of his attire looks like shit. I’d make a 70s movie reference, but can’t think of any at the moment, because it truly looks like – SHIT. His black version is not good either, but this one is just horrendous. This match was actually very good until the moment it wasn’t. Obviously Cena got AAed like in every other big match, obviously we got another finisher festival, obviously a referee bump happened and that fucking chode John Stewart interfered. Obviously. Zero fucks given. Eh, at least the figure four leglock sequence was neat.

Two Matches from WM Play Button

WWE WrestleMania 2015

(2015/3/29)

NO DQ: Sting vs. Triple H

Hm, judging from the video package, the build-up to the match sucked a bag of dicks. Apparently Sting was sitting in his basement for 13 years and growing a pair all this time to take on Levesque. LOL. But nevermind, I’m here for actual wrestling, not the talking. Stinger’s entrance was great, the daylight certainly helped too, it really looked cool. Then Ahnold announces Levesque’s Terminator entrance and I’m not exactly sure how to feel about the whole thing. It’s a mystery to me. :/ Sting’s in a damn good shape. I’m talking 2006/07 TNA shape. Props to him!

Man, this sucked. Stinger came to this? Even before the interferences the match was simply not good. It had its moments, but it was meh overall. Stinger should really call it a day. I love you, buddy, but c’mon now… I hated, HATED the nWo/Clique geriatrics jerkoff nostalgia, it was so stupid. Save that crap for shitty Raws. Last thing I need is watching a bunch of old farts doing their memorabilia thing, fuck off with that shit. Not to mention DX being presented as the equals to nWo, but whatever, WWE won, they can do whatever they want. Bad match, although I did like the post-match handshake, it saved the match from being a total DUD.

WWE WrestleMania 2015

(2015/3/29)

WWE Championship: Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar ©

Technically, I don’t know how to treat this, is this one match or two? Weird situation, hm. Nevermind, because it was mostly fun. The Reins/Bork portion was really good, could’ve been amazing if they did one F5 less, I could really do without the third one, that was an overkill if there ever was one. One more thing, Roman looked like a total caricature out there, still sporting that Shield outfit and getting his ass kicked for a VERY long time, that’s not how you present someone who’s aspiring for Cena’s spot at the top. He did make a good and exciting comeback, but it needed to happen sooner, IMO. The match gets big bonus points for all around brutality and barbarism displayed through some truly vicious knee strikes, lariats, slaps and slams by both guys, but mostly Lesnar. You’ve never seen strikes this stiff in WWE. And holy smokes, his suplexes never looked better. And then Rollins cashed in, and things happened. I don’t really know what to think about it. Actually, I do know what to think about it – I didn’t like it. Hm, shame, Reins/Bork could’ve been a masterpiece with a thing or two fixed, but the whole thing feels kind of disjointed now.

Some Stuff from Raw, NXT and ROH (Kaz!)

NXT 2015/1/15

Hideo Itami vs. Finn Balor

So I see some folks praising this match as something good/great, but that’s a load of shit. The match is totally average, matter fact it’s as average as one can be. Not bad stuff, but not good either, it was simply basic as fuck, totally unspectacular. I guess this is KENTA vs. Devitt after all, so maybe I should have known better.

WWE Raw 2015/2/2

Seth Rollins vs. Daniel Bryan

Oh look, it’s the gnome-man and his “YES!” crap shoved into everything. Oh look, there’s overbooking too.

NXT 2014/12/12

Tyson Kidd vs. Finn Balor

Now this was a good little match, I liked how Balor wasted no time and went for the win right away. I also liked Kidd controlling the pace, and he actually worked his holds instead of sitting in them. The finishing run was also good, there were some stiff moves thrown around. The announcing was terrible, though, those guys and that chick didn’t know a single goddamn move.

NXT 2014/12/12

NXT Championship: Adrian Neville vs. Sami Zayn ©

OMG, this bored the shit out of me.

bad

ROH 2015/1/3

Cedric Alexander vs. Frankie Kazarian

Nifty little TV match, I admit I haven’t watched Alexander since his C&C Wrestle Factory days, and boy, that was like 2-3 years ago. I keep hearing about his “great matches” lately, and after witnessing this one with Kaz, I might as well seek his most pimped stuff, including that AJ Styles match-up. Speaking of Kaz, I legit don’t remember the last meaningful singles match of his, both he and Bad Influence were criminally underused in TNA, then they moved to ROH and I was too lazy to watch them, because this is ROH we’re talking about. Anyway, nice match here, Kaz reminded me of his greatness and Cedric sold me on his talent.

Cena/Rollins/Lesnar

WWE Royal Rumble 2015

(2015/1/25)

TRIPLE THREAT for WWE Championship: John Cena vs. Seth Rollins vs. Brock Lesnar ©

The only match I was half interested into was this one. Fantastic and truly captivating every time with BROCK on offense destroying everyone, but also incredibly dull and head-scratching every time JAWNN SEENAH got in charge, dude is just sooo cringeworthy when it comes to taking care of business as a top dog babyface. Eh, at least he was bumping very well for BORK, it’s gotta count for something, right? Rollins was really good, he did his stuff including the biggest spot of the match, also his Curb Stomp looked devastating, at least visually that is. The match was amazing until the point we got Cena/Rollins 1-on-1 where it got ridiculous with all the kickouts and shit, then it got awesome again with BORK rising from the dead and winning the match. Yeah, bitch!

Moment of the match: all things BORK, especially when he smashed that ugly ass 60s mini-TV screen.
