vs. Big R Shimizu
Great little
match between the best young wrestlers in Dragon Gate, these two guys are
knocking down all the stereotypes about DG workers being nothing but flippy
spot monkeys. Sure, guys like Mochizuki and YAMATO have been knocking down those
stereotypes for years and years now, but for every Mochizuki, there are two
Masato Yoshinos who turn people away from DG. This was fucking sweet, Shimizu’s
American powerhouse style meshed so well with Hawk’s methodical ambush style,
many chops were thrown around and we got two really sweet and meaningful chop
battles out of it. They built things very well, the escalation was organic and
natural, the match ended on a high note after a short but hot finishing run.
One day when these two meet in a Dream Gate match, it might be the very best
company effort ever.
