Lucha Underground: Episode 23

Episode 23

aired: 2015/4/15

"Previously on LU" video package. Dario visits Aerostar, who stands on the roof to get some inspiration from the heavens. I guess. Dario guesses the same. Darios speaks in cliches. It's totaly camp and I dig it very mucho. Striker and Vampiro welcome us. Vamp is very excited. Maaaybe bit too excited.

The opening 6-man tag was fantastic, there was just sooo much good in that match. They got enough time and took every advantage of it. I loved the slow build, that way the rapid fire crescendo later in the match meant a lot. Man, that was a breathtaking sequence of big moves. Hernandez did a fine job in playing an ego-driven muscle, he did his big dive too. Cuerno and especially Mundo were the best, though, both guys looked so smooth and their highly athletic styles were really useful here. Amazing match.

But wait! There's more! Dario announces an impromptu 3-way with members of each winning team.

Cage/Mack/Havoc was solid. The Mack was as impressive as he was in PWG. He's off to a pretty damn good start here. Havoc's mini-winning streak is over. :(

Dario visits Drago in the bathroom. More cliche talk from Dario.

Melissa "SUPER HOT LEGS AND CUTE FACE" Santos is with Pentagon in the ring, but unfortunately for her - she is his next sacrifice for the master. Her selling of the horror is simply superb. Vampiro is ready to get involved, but Sexy Star saves Melissa first. Pent is furious. He's also an asshole.

Melissa is shaken, so Dario handles the ring announcing for main event.

Aerostar/Drago was good, but definitely not the show stealer or anything like that. I don't even think it's their best match in the series. Some things felt awkward and rushed, despite the solid amount of time they got. The table spot was great, though, and so was the nasty ass DDT before the finish. I dunno, I feel the match should've been better. Still good, very good, but needed to reach four stars. IMO.

Time for Dario's "unique opportunity". Drago gets the title shot, but if he loses, he's banned from Temple for good. Uh, oh...

  1. Trios Title Tournament: King Cuerno, Texano Jr., Cage vs. Prince Puma, Johnny Mundo, Hernandez ****1/2
  2. 3-WAY (winner advances his team to the final): Cage vs. The Mack vs. Son of Havoc **3/4
  3.  Best of 5 Series, Match No. 5: Aerostar vs. Drago ***3/4
