Newish CMLL: The Day of Smashing Trios

CMLL 2014/11/7

Volador Jr., Maximo, Diamante Azul vs. Peste Negra (Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas, Felino)

Mr. Niebla barely even worked here, thank fuck, it made for a good match. Anyway, Volador/Casas chemistry, sheeeeeit, totally fapworthy, I see they had at least two mano a mano matches a year ago, gonna check them, sounds swell on paper.

Ingobernables (Rush, Sombra, Mascara) vs. Ultimo Guerrero, Euforia, Thunder

Senor Ultimo Guerrero is so damn good in his simplicity, the chemistry with Rush has endless opportunities. Fuck me, this wasn’t longer than 11-12 minutes, but it was richer than Bill Gates. Just a total, out of control brawl, bell-to-bell, even Thunder looked good, that’s all you need to know. Honestly, a potential Rush/Ultimo hair match sounds sexy on one million levels.

CMLL 2014/11/23

Volador Jr., Blue Panther, Dragon Rojo Jr. vs. Negro Casas, Mephisto, Niebla Roja

Average trio stuff, nothing bad but nothing too remarkable either, although I did appreciate Volador’s intensity against Casas and Mephisto.

Sombra, Mascara, Marco Corleone vs. Ultimo Guerrero, Euforia, Thunder

Marco is replacing the injured Rush, he did well, loved his well placed punches. UG is busting out great performances right, left and centre, he’s got to be the WOTYC.

CMLL 2014/11/9

Sagrado, Misterioso Jr., Boby Zavala vs. Guerrero Maya Jr., Delta, Rey Cometa

Smart, coherent and organic trio where at least three guys had their moments where they looked like the best wrestlers in the world. Boby Zavala strikes me as someone I need to a project about. I also need more Maya singles matches in my life, he’s an absolute jewel of lucha libre, just book him against everyone pls.

CMLL 2014/11/11

Hechicero, Virus, Hombre sin Nombre vs. Guerrero Maya Jr., Delta, Fuego

I’m kind of exhausted at the moment and can’t get even half-assed to write anything about this glorious match that’d make sense, just – watch it. It has Virus/Maya portions, it has Virus/Fuego portions, it has Hechicero solidifying his BITWC moniker by being fantastic once again, it has wagons of catch ‘n’ hook heavy matwork and struggle, it builds things in a splendid fashion, just a superb trio match.

CMLL 2014/11/11

Maximo vs. Negro Casas

Two really short caidas, but nothing I’d call bad, the finishers were compelling and strong. Tercera was longer, of course, we got a nice continuation from the trio where these guys previously met, this time Casas gave zero fucks about Maximo’s kiss of death. Also, more than one mule kick to Maximo’s gut was thrown.

CMLL 2014/11/11

Ultimo Guerrero, Euforia, Rey Bucanero vs. Atlantis, Volador Jr., Mascara Dorada

This was less than 10 min long, but shit man, CMLL is fucking best when it comes to making the most out of every second. UG’s rudo trio was tremendous on a brawling workover once again, the tecnicos’ comebacks were awesome, Dorada hit a fucking HUGE crowd shattering tope in tercera, the crowd was chanting “PUTO!” all the time and made me want to be there so badly, just tons and tons of having good time. UG fouling both Atlantis and Volador to finish the match and not giving one fuck was absolutely priceless, might be the finish of the year contender.

CMLL 2014/11/14

Mephisto, Ephesto, Kamaitachi vs. Valiente, Titan, Angel de Oro

Killer 11 min sprint that still managed to cover all the bases, Titan and Valiente displayed amazing athleticism and were bumping so well.

CMLL 2014/11/25

MATCH RELAMPAGO: Triton vs. Kamaitachi

Very good 7 min match, Kamaitachi looked good, Triton too, he’s another guy I have to keep my eye on.
