Four Rather Neat CMLL Trios

CMLL 2015/08/11

Valiente, Dragon Lee, Rey Cometa vs. Ephesto, Hechicero, Luciferno

Great match with all six guys working hard. Primera was marvelous with all the nifty matwork and eventual crazy flying (including Lee’s INSANE dive miss) that led to the tecnico win, which pissed off the rudos and hence segunda being all things dirty bar fighting. Rudos losing primera and then dishing out revenge punishment in segunda is one of my favorite things in CMLL trios. It doesn’t happen very often, but when it does, it always works. Hechicero and Valiente were fired up. They were involved in the finish that served as a prelude to their mano a mano match one week after this. Also so good to see Cometa back!

Guerreros Laguneros (Ultimo Guerrero, Euforia, Niebla Roja) vs. Rey Escorpion, Dragon Rojo Jr., Vangelis

Wild brawl with perfect booking, totally right up my alley, and it ended in two falls! Primera was even until the moment it wasn’t, rudos domination was among the best shit I’ve seen this year, it ended via DQ due to excessive violence. I love when that happens. Obviously it infuriated Rey Escorpion and his pals some more, so they got even nastier in segunda. Guerreros’ comeback was excellent and led directly to a finish instead of to a third act primera. That way it ended in two falls and two acts, and they did a plenty of stuff so the crowd didn’t feel cheated. Great match! I gotta commend the other four guys here, they were a perfect gang muscle, especially Rojo and Roja.

Volador Jr., Maximo, Marco Corleone vs. TGR (Shocker, Rey Bucanero, Terrible)

Man, Arena Mexico was fucking HOT for this one. They reacted to everything and everyone. It helped. Just an amazing mixture of comedy, flying, hard hitting, etc. The sober and motivated Shocker is the best. Marco is always over, but this was something else, his stuff with Terrible was sensational. The crowd ate it up. Crazy! Volador did his superkick and high flying. Terrible was a terrific roughhouse once again. Shit man, so much good stuff here, loved it. Straight-forward entertainment.

Guerreros Laguneros (Ultimo Guerrero, Euforia, Gran Guerrero) vs. Rey Escorpion, Kraneo, Ripper

Another two fall match that surprisingly ended right before the third act, loved it. Kraneo is an awesome big/fat dude who moves very well, Ripper is growing on me and Rey Escorpion’s hate for UG alone is enough to carry the match. Great brawling in primera and the first half of segunda. Many cool moments and little things in this one, including another textbook comeback from the Guerreros. The abrupt distraction ending and post-match brawl with Thunder was compelling and added to the match.
