Random CMLL (Perrito, Mistico, Wagner, Santo...)

CMLL 2008/08/01

Dr. Wagner Jr., Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Hector Garza vs. Mistico, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas

Fun two-fall mayhem, but it was rather short and they didn’t even air all of it. The Arena Mexico crowd was REEEDDDD HOOOTTTT, watching all the grown-ups marking out and making funny faces like they’re kids was very amusing. Niebla/Wagner was central match-up here as they were building to a mano a mano title match, and obviously there was also the eternal Perro/Mistico beef. Lots of surly brawling and manly posing for the crowd. Mistico got his ass kicked pretty bad. Niebla and Wagner were afer each other’s masks. Fun match that needed to be longer.

Well, Hey There! Are You IWRG? Long Time No See!

IWRG 2015/10/18

LA Park, Trauma I, Trauma II vs. Dr. Wagner Jr., Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr., Golden Magic

Massive disappointment, nothing even close to an out-of-control Arena Naucalpan mayhem I was secretly expecting. It was the worst possible version of Park vs. Wagner, with all the posing, shenanigans, annoying stalling and screwy finish. Wagner was the worst here with all the unnecessary posing and crap like that. Such a real life douche, but you gotta give him credit for being a smart worker who knows how to get and stay over with the crowds with minimal fucking efforts. Even when Park and Wagner actually wrestled, it was painfully average, with lots of sloppiness and low-bump shortcuts. Wagner’s son was useless here. Terrible wrestler. The Traumas and Golden Magic were the saving graces of the match, they did some cool and fancy shit and made sure the match stays somewhat coherent. I also liked some brawling portions but those were rare, unfortunately. Such a meh match.

Park & Wagner Making CMLL Hot Once Again

CMLL 2015/08/28

LA Park, Atlantis, Volador Jr. vs. Dr. Wagner Jr., Sombra, Rush

Wild and out-of-control brawl mixed with some crazy flying, man oh man, this match was all it needed to be. Park and Wagner working their first CMLL match in seven years drew big time and Arena Mexico was filled with red hot fans who created an electrifying atmosphere and were into everything. Wagner was posing and stalling for like 80% of his ringtime, but I didn’t mind it at all, lol. So many stories, plots and subplots in this match, with old grudges and the new ones. Park and Rush have an unbelievable promising chemistry, they beat bajesus out of each other here, there were nasty headbutt and German suplex battles, also Park was choking him with cables and hitting him with a stretcher. Park is bringing it! Assuming Park stays in CMLL long enough, their eventual apuesta clash should be amazing. Park and Wagner also didn’t forget their bitter feud. Atlantis and Sombra did a great job in building towards the upcoming mask vs. mask match at Aniversario, but they were also hinting at Atlantis/Wagner, which is an old beef with some sort of resolution still to come. Volador was here to bump around and do the flying part. All in all, this was a totally crazy scuffle and a proper return match for Park and Wagner, you better watch it.

Do People Actually Think Park Isn't the Best?!

TXT 2013/5/11

Legendary blood brawl of modern lucha. And it gets better on every viewing. The first two falls are perfection, the tercera not so much. It’s still great and stiff, they worked a regular fall, but the ref bumps kind of drag the match down a notch. But no biggie there, because this is still a fantastic piece of pro-wrestling, the first two falls are as good as it gets in the lucha massacre department. Park dominated Wagner for 13 straight minutes, the entire primera and good part of segunda, it was nasty and brutal, Park was one mean motherfucker, his asskicking aura shined like almost never before. He looked and acted frightening. Hard chairshots, mask-ripping, blood licking, brawling through the crowd, punches, kicks… Glorious shit. Wagner was selling everything like death. The crowd was extremely pro-Wagner here, there were numerous “Parka es puto” chants as he was decimating their hero. When Wagner finally made his comeback, the place exploded, Hulkamania style. Obviously Wagner gave Park a taste of his own medicine, as it was his turn to unleash violence now. He fucked up Park pretty bad with a beer bottle, Park was bleeding buckets, to the point they had doctor stopping the match for awhile to patch his forehead. Also, huge props to Black Terry for being such an awesome and easy-going ref, he let them go as hardcore as they wanted. Sweet!

This is an amazing match and a must-see for every lucha fan out there.

3-WAY: Dr. Wagner Jr. vs. LA Park vs. Atlantis

Wow, this match actually had a decisive winner. Well, it wasn’t clean of course, it never is with Park and Wagner in the mix, but there was a winner. Due to Atlantis’ presence, this wasn’t a crazy Park/Wagner helter-skelter brawl, but rather a game of tricks and smoke and mirrors. Sure, some stiff shots were still thrown around, but the majority was a normal 3-way match with dudes trying to outsmart each other. Atlantis needs to have singles matches with both these dudes.

LUCHA EN JAULA for LyC Tag Team Championship: Dr. Wagner Jr. & Silver King vs. Hijo del Ninja & Ultimo Ninja ©

Another contender for the trainwreck of the year, this was such a hilariously terrible cage match filled with Botchamania gags. I don’t wanna waste any time on writing about this shit.

Canek & LA Park vs. Rayo de Jalisco Jr. & Dr. Wagner Jr.

A Park/Wagner match, which was good. But it was also a Canek/Jalisco match, which was fucking AWFUL. Meh.

Negro Casas vs. Fuerza Guerrera

Good match with not so good dirty low-blow finish for a DQ. They worked a throwback lucha match and it was mostly nice and engaging, shame things didn’t work out well due to booking.

Park/Wagner: Ever Seen a 100 Year Old High-Flying Ref?

Llaves y Candados 20??/?/?

SUPER LIBRE: La Parka (original) vs. Dr. Wagner Jr.

I got this match from a torrent site, have no idea when it happened, although the commentators kept referring to Park as “La Parka”, which means this has to be around 2003, because that’s when the legal war between Park and Pena started. The venue is famous Arena Coliseo in Monterrey, and my god, that place loves rigged refs, overbooking and massive screwjobs. But hey, that’s the charm, and let me tell you something, it’s more fun than frustrating, most of time. Honestly, Park and Wagner have one of the greatest chemistries together, they work immensely with each other. Of course this was a stiff brawl with your classic lucha ingredients, and when you add your vintage Monterrey antics such as high-flying 100 year old refs, lethal board shots, interferences and some comedy, then you get a fun match. However, this is the place where just about everything clicked, and considering it’s Park and Wagner, the shit is fantastic.
