Wrestling Hinokuni

Wrestling Hinokuni

(2015/4/29)

1.      Sho Tanaka, Yohei Komatsu, Jay White vs. CHAOS (Rocky Romero, Beretta, Gedo)

Bad match. Beretta sucks.

bad

2.      Yujiro Takahashi & Cody Hall vs. Satoshi Kojima & Cpt. New Japan

Nothing to see here, moving on…

bad

3.      Manabu Nakanishi, Ryusuke Taguchi, KUSHIDA vs. Yuji Nagata, Tiger Mask, Mascara Dorada

Passable, but barely. At this point I pity everyone who has to work with Nakanishi.

4.      NWA World Jr. Heavyweight Championship: Jushin Liger vs. Steve Anthony ©

Decent match hurt by dirty climax. But still, Anthony looked better than Chase Owens, I wouldn’t mind seeing him again. And yes, Bruce Tharpe is still trying way too hard.

**1/2

5.      NWA World Heavyweight Championship: Big Daddy Yum-Yum vs. Hiroyoshi Tenzan ©

Poor Tenzan. Poor, poor Tenzan.

bad

6.      Tetsuya Naito, Tomoaki Honma, Alex Shelley vs. Bullet Club (Karl Anderson, Doc Gallows, Kenny Omega)

This match happened. It was decent.

**3/4

7.      Bad Luck Fale & Tama Tonga vs. Kazuchika Okada & YOSHI-HASHI

Another decent match, but hands down the weakest in the feud. It had some swell parts, but as a whole it fell short of being good. Tonga regained his “Best Rainmaker Recipient” title, though.

**3/4

8.      Hirooki Goto, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Katsuyori Shibata vs. Shinsuke Nakamura, Toru Yano, Kazushi Sakuraba

Finally, the first good match of the evening, and it was really sweet. The match-ups were obvious and they all delivered, especially the red hot Tana/Yano climax, smashing shit. Goddamn it, their Dominion blow-off simply NEEDS TO BE a hair vs. hair match. Book it pls.

***1/2

9.      NEVER Openweight Championship: Togi Makabe vs. Tomohiro Ishii ©

This was exactly what you expected it to be, a smashmouth, in-your-face slugfest, and just a total 101 Ishii carryjob. There were tons of grueling strike battles, dangerous neckdrops, fighting spirit, one-upmanship, etc. Ishii gets tons of I LOVE YOU points for working the Tenryu throwback style, even the announcers were raving about it. Dude’s simply the greatest. I fucking HATE that he lost the strap here, to Makabe of all people, I mean come the fuck on, Makabe is a poor man’s Ishii and got exposed in every brawl he worked in the last few years, especially in this feud with Ishii. Makabe just can’t work Ishii’s style, but sad thing is – he keeps insisting on it. Great and brutal match, but none of it was thanks to Makabe.
