Happy Genome Year!

IGF Bom-Ba-Ye 2014

(2014/12/31)

Super Tiger vs. Daichi Hashimoto

Super Tiger is normally a decent shoot style guy but this wasn’t his night, he didn’t click with Baby Hash. Of course the Tiger’s entrance song is Eye of the Tiger, bleh… Daichi, on the other hand, is a total dumbass for choosing Insane Genome Federation as his new home, at least where I stand from. The match sucked, just imagine the most generic shoot genre match imaginable and you’ll get something exactly like this, except that Daichi got to throw in a couple of “pro” moves. Daichi got KTFOed in 4 minutes, Shinya is rolling over in his grave.

bad

Kazuyuki Fujita & Minowaman vs. Naoya Ogawa & Josh Barnett

Oh hey there, an IGF match that wasn’t a disaster, no, matter fact – it was good. What caught me off guard is they worked traditional style, no shoot admixtures at all. They brawled outside the ring, worked long FIP segments, did plenty of “pro” moves and rope running, etc. They were sloppy at moments, but whatever, it wasn’t too ugly, and considering the names involved, it was to be expected. Surprisingly good match with nice work from everyone involved.

***1/4
