WAVE 2015/2/11

Regina Di WAVE Championship: Ayako Hamada vs. Hikaru Shida ©

Really good smackfest, but unfortunately they clipped 7 minutes out of it, they only aired 10 out of 17 minutes. However, I feel like they showed the most important parts therefore I’m gonna rate it. I really like how they created lots of drama just by exchanging mean death stares, with the only (key) difference Hamada actually materializing those stares into something concrete. I don’t feel like writing about the technical stuff here, I just want you to know the match is really good and worth checking out.

WAVE 2015/2/11

Aya Mizunami vs. Yumi Ohka

One of the many reasons why pro-graps is so captivating, simple and awesome is how you can be able to get into competitors you’re watching for the very first time ever, because they’re telling great stories in the ring and you suddenly feel you’ve known them your whole life. I’ve never even heard of these two before, but here they are, beating the shit out of each other for our entertainment, with Mizunami playing a perky, overexcited underdog and Ohka being on the verge of losing the match she’s supposed to win. It’s intense and dramatic and contains some truly hellish BIG BOOTS to the face!

Sendai Girls 2015/3/11

Kyoko Kimura vs. Meiko Satomura

Such a gritty smackfest between two seasoned veterans of joshi, 20 minutes of pure awesomeness, these two ladies told a captivating story about toughness and resilience. Everything about this was at least good. I want more!

Kana Pro 2015/2/25

REINA World Tag Team Championship: Syuri & Hikaru Shida vs. Kana & Arisa Nakajima ©

Fuuuck me, this was wild! I mean, the match was 20 minutes long and felt like one gigantic finishing stretch, but not in a bad way, no way, because they somehow managed to make it work through all the dramatic saves, great selling and constant changes of pace and rhythm. Not to mention tons of brutal, hellish strikes that looked and sounded like something straight out of Battlarts factory. Ikeda and Ishikawa would be proud. Great match!
