Classic AAA

AAA 1996/10/6

LUCHA EN JAULA: Pierroth Jr., Killer, Halcon Dorado Jr. vs. Mascara Sagrada Jr., Blue Demon Jr., La Parka

Fun cage match brawl, basically as good as it could get with the “escape” stipulation and some of the names involved. But hey, it was entertaining enough and kept short, with a minimalistic structure and layout. Parka was brutal in his comeback punishment, he went full throttle on the rudos with chairshots and caneshots. Totally watchable tussle.

AAA 1993/3/26

La Parka, Heavy Metal, Rambo vs. Lizmark, Rey Misterio Jr., Villano III

Such a weird match, driven by problems. First the bottom rope fell off and then Villano got legit injured, and then the TOTAL out of nowhere finish happens. Werid shit right there. We got very little an actual wrestling, but luckily it was good enough to somehow save the match from disaster. The Parka/Lizmark portions were awesome.

AAA 1993/5/7

Heavy Metal, Mascara Ano 2000, Jerry Estrada vs. Perro Aguayo, Hijo del Santo, Octagon

Endlessly fun match, a super heated combination of brawling and slick counter attacks, but most of it was nasty smacking, loved every second of it. MA 2000 just lost his mask to Perro a month earlier and naturally is angry as a rabid dog, their portions here carried the match to greatness, what a wonderful stuff between those two, they were throwing kitchen sinks at each other. The fans LOVE Perro and so do I. The other angle was Heavy Metal busting Santo wide open and it was quite a visual, because the ultimate tecnico Santo bloodying his shiny silver tights and mask is one of my favorite things in all of lucha. They brawled intensely and it had me looking for their potential singles match, and my oh my – there is one on YouTube, albeit a title match, which could mean no brawling like here, but no biggie, anything is possible with these two. Anyway, TLDR, this was a great trio.

AAA 1992/3/29

Cien Caras, Sangre Chicana, La Fiera vs. Perro Aguayo, Vampiro, Konnan

Total mayhem with punches and kicks being a go-to offense, and most of it was pretty good, however I’m not really sure what to think about the ending, but that’s purely because I don’t really know why the rudo ref DQed the tecnico trio. Whatever it was, it got a MASSIVE heat from the fans, so I guess it served its purpose. The match could’ve been even better if Chicana played a more prominent role instead of being a complete sidekick. But that’s why we got Perro and Fiera jumping on each other’s throats and Cien Caras being the douchebag of the century to Konnan.
