Ingobernables
(Rush, Sombra, Tetsuya Naito) vs. Thunder, Shocker, Ephesto
Tremendous
trio totally carried by the Ingobernables swag. Naito fit in very well as an
invading rudo, and teaming with Dickbag #1 and Dickbag #2 brought the very best
out of him. Great booking here, the rudos were dominating the entire primera
but then at the very end of it Sombra and Naito got caught off guard and pinned
by Shocker and Ephesto, and needless to say, it infuriated Ingobernables to the
point of unseen douchebaggery. Rush completely lost his mind in the segunda and
carried Thunder to a damn good match-up, Thunder is progressing properly under
the surly Rush watch. The finish of segunda was all sorts of fantastic and
legit funny as hell. Excellent match.

Volador
Jr., Maximo, Marco Corleone vs. Ultimo Guerrero, Euforia, Thunder
Very good
match with each and every tecnico bringing something different to the table,
with Thunder looking good once again, especially against Marco, and with UG and
Euforia being relentless aggressors when needed. The fans really enjoyed this
was, and rightfully so, there was some awesome action sequences and some great
comedy. Super fun match.

Torneo Leyenda de Plata 2015 - FINAL:
Negro Casas vs. Dragon Lee
Outstanding
match, I watched it three times already because I wasn’t sure whether I lost my
mind or did Dragon Lee just work a long match with ZERO high spots and dives.
Seriously, the entire match was spent inside the squared circle, Lee did try to
dive once but Negro just stood up and jumped on the apron to block him, all
that with a big smile on his face, he was like “whoa kid, hold it right there,
we’re working my type of match, remember?”, and really, this was a complete
Negro Casas layout, this was his structure, his fingerprints were all over it.
The primera might be the greatest primera in over a year, I swear a god, it was
poetry in motion watching them outtrick each other with all the quick pin
attempts, nasty little armbars and wristlocks, leg trips, etc. And then the
finish too, just fantastic. They moved onto puroresu style in the segunda, those
stiff strike exchanges would make Ishii and Shibata very proud, I’m telling
you. They hit each other hard, truly hard. The final fall still wasn’t a crazy
Dragon Lee adrenaline rushfest, like I said before, this was totally put
together by Negro, they kept things tight and focused, please tell me when was
the last time you saw a CMLL match with zero big moves in the last fall. Crazy
and unique, and pretty astounding. The sequence of the match was Lee fighting
for life during a crossface. Just imagine the endless possibilities for a
rematch where they could go all in.

Campeonato Mundial Peso Welter Historico de NWA:
Negro Casas vs. Volador Jr. ©
Unfortunately,
this was mostly a Volador Jr. match, and everybody and their mothers know what
that means. Luckily, Casas still managed to push through some of his tricks
into the match as his fingerprints were all over some nifty things, such as the
finish for the first fall. One more thing, Casas is a fucking cyborg for even
continuing the match after getting a concussion in a very first bump of the
match. We’re talking about the man who’s in the middle of the 50s here, folks.
After all of that he still ate a rough superkick or two later in the match.
Goddamn it, he’s such a trooper! Ultimately, this was a good title match that
could’ve been way better if fucking Volador let Negro lead the game, like
Dragon Lee did.

Mephisto,
Ephesto, Kamaitachi vs. Mistico, Angel de Oro, Dragon Lee
Borderline
great trio, if only Mephisto and Ephesto didn’t gas out in the tercera. We got
some nice llaves in the primera in Mephisto/Mistico and Ephesto/Angel, then Lee
and Kamaitachi were just like “fuck that shit” and went to hit each other hard,
it was great. What made the match was the rudos taking over the match and their
ruthless domination was relatively long and quite awesome through segunda and
tercera, before the aforementioned gassing out by Meph and Eph. To sum up, this
was a real good clash with strong finishes to each fall.

Ingobernables
(Sombra, Marco Corleone, Tetsuya Naito) vs. Ultimo Guerrero, Euforia, Thunder
This was
around four minutes shorter than the previous match, but just as good, because it’s
impressive they got the most out of things by doing so little, except for
Thunder’s (!) brave frog splash. Naito fits incredibly well with the Unmanagebles,
it’s so refreshing to see him all stripped down in his offense, using only
specific moves with slaps and chops being his go-to offense, he’s awesome. He
was having beef with both Euforia and UG here, and poor UG also had to handle
Marco and his weird antics, and there’s some serious mano a mano potential
between those two, because their stuff in the match was incredibly catchy.
Marco’s punches are phenomenal and UG sells them like instant death. La Sombra
dealt with Thunder here and he did almost as well as Rush at making the Aussie
look like a true menace from “down under”. Super sweet match.
